"The planned remake of 1984's "Revenge of the Nerds" has been cancelled by Fox Atomic -- a move especially surprising since the production was two weeks into filming for a summer 2007 release. The pic had been set to shoot the campus flick at Atlanta's Emory University when the school backed out earlier this month; production had been on hold while scouts searched for new locations until Fox Atomic decided to pull the plug altogether.

Jenna Dewan is joining Ryan Pinkston and Nick Zano in Fox Atomic's remake of the 1984 comedy Revenge of the Nerds, says the Hollywood Reporter. The feature, helmed by Kyle Newman, will see Jenna play an 18-year-old college freshman who catches the eye of nerd Max, played by the already-cast Christopher Marquette, on their first day at their new college.
